         The central character of the story is Hans Beckert (Peter Lorre’s arguably most famous role), the maniac who terrorizes Berlin for months by luring and killing children. Hardly any character in film history would seem to deserve less compassion than Hans Beckert – and yet compassion to that monster is precisely the emotion Fritz Lang leads his audience to experience.
          What I noticed in the movie (mostly during the first quater) was that every where there there seem to be a crowd of people(citizens of Berlin), there seem to be chaos. From the first scene where the kids were in circle singing and the lady shouted and warned them not to sing that kind of song. Another was whenever news of a new murder case or news of the killer evolve the streets of Berlin tends to be scrambled with its anxious citizens. For example during 9:40 minutes into the movie when Elsie's death was printed in the news paper. Also there was a chaos and disrespecting of the police from the citizens when the cops were tormenting their social fun lives. At 23:40 minutes into the movie when police kept breaching local drinking spots and checking out the citizens for IDs.
           The essential message from the movie that I learned was with all this chaos and disrespecting of the police they kept on with their hard work and investigations focusing on the bright side to catch the killer that was tormenting the city. It is of a great sense to keep on with a success mind. This movie really inspired me a lot

MY INTERPRETATION/ REASON
Lyrics:

To me this is one great song. other than the entertaining part of music, music tends to bring the bright side of most individuals as it musicians tends to be role model for most of their fans. In this case, Friedrich Hollaende may serve as a source of inspiration or role model that could inspire most of his female fans to bring the best in them out. Most at times through words of encouragement as these, most individuals tend to bright and shine.
 
 
 INTERPRETATION: Friedrich Hollaende 's Chuck Out the Men" (Raus mit den Männern) song in simple and palin words was to encourage females not just in one area but the entire world.

Keine Zeit
Es soll noch Menschen geben,
die ganz gemuetlich leben und sich nicht kuemmern um das Tempo unserer Zeit.
Die noch nicht wild besessen aus Automaten fressen, bis ihnen uebel wird vor lauter Schnelligkeit.
Jedoch in diesen bewegten Zeiten, trifft man nur wenige von diesen Leuten.
Denn heut steht man im Schnellautomaten, mit der Marke im zittrigen Pfoetchen.

Oben steckt man sie rein und dann gibt’s einen Dreh, schon ist unten zum Vorschein ein Broetchen.

Man moecht am liebsten, ja das soll’s geben, das Ende noch vor Beginne leben.
Heut verliebt man sich abends, verlobt sich bei Nacht und vermaehlt in der Frueh sich zufriede und am Mittag da hat man bereits sich verkracht und am Abend ist man wieder geschieden.

Findet heut zwischen Laendern Verhandlungen statt und die Herren haben alles besprochen, ja dann wird noch bevor unterzeichnet man hat, der geschlossene Vertrag schon gebrochen,
denn das findt man heut chick, denn wir sind ja so quick.
Es ist gleich, ob wir heute reell sind, denn die Hauptsache ist, dass wir schnell sind.

INTERPRETATION AND REASON
Looking at the definition of time as a moment or definite portion of time allotted, used, or suitable for a purpose. It is an indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole. therefore with this said a utilization of time is necessary and that what the music is advising and noting on.
From my little experience in life, most developed nations as compared to underdeveloped nations do make use of their time from sec to centuries. Individuals may reach their goals with the use of their profitable time.

Francis Reaction of Alan's Death

Scene
              At 16th minute of the movie, Francis was informed by a lady that is acquainted to him and his friend Alan that Alan( his friend) has been murdered. 


My Interpretation 
              During the time the movie was first aired when war was in the air, Expressionist through movie scenes such as these showed how the community was feeling when innocent loved ones are killed due decisions big authoritative leaders puts their peaceful societies in. 
             When Francis was informed with such hurtful news, his reactions and inner emotions as he cries and looks crushed were how the citizens felt at that time. It is even worse when a loved one you were just with yesterday is dead just as you wake up in the morning.
              

Relating to the Class
             This movie relates to the class as it is a pure form of ways how expressionist voices out the inner feelings towards the war at that time. I must say the stylization of shadow-like background with a circular envelope around the individual may express other characters behind such as the darker environment or surrounding we are in on this earth. The deeper down it is in a society, there is a true shadow that in-turn describes how realistic the person is.
